Bob See Alice; Bob, Bob . . .Cialis!

The curling open house was a lot of fun this past weekend. Over 500 people came through, Saturday and Sunday. I wasn't there Saturday, but I was there from 1 until 4:30 on Sunday and do you know not one fly was present, not ONE. I really thought I would see at least one, but Noooooooo! Man, they don't know what they're missing!

While I was at the open house, I was chatting with one of our long time members. He was a very friendly, funny old guy. He shared some history about our curling club and his first curling experience (in 1938)! This gentleman is 89 years young, and just stopped curling 2 years ago! Isn't that amazing? The only reason he quit is because after his hip surgery, he would stiffen up so badly on the ice, that he could barely move, so he had to stop. He also mentioned that he has had eye surgery and has battled with cancer and now he is about to have his knees replaced. I jokingly told him that he was the bionic man. He replied, with no hesitancy what so ever, that if he was the bionic man that he would be bionic all over. He then proceeded to say that he hadn't had an erection in 16 years. I nearly fell out of my chair! It's amazing what people will say as they get older. All in all, he was a very nice guy, with a great sense of humor and had no problem hanging out with a fly!

Come Out, Come Out, Where Ever You Are

Today, I thought I would go out to my blog to re-read what I posted the other day. You know, make sure there aren't any typos! While I was there, I decided to do some blog surfing to see if there were any fellow flies out there. I'm sorry to say, that I was unsuccessful!

Come on now, really? I'm beginning to think I'm the only fly in the blogosphere! That just can't be! I know there's more of us out there! Where are you??? How do I find you? Hellloooooooooooo!!!!!!

Maybe I should hang a cyberspace "Fly Strip" or a "No Pest Strip" to see if that catches any flies. Oh, or maybe a virtual "Cow Pie" that might do the trick!

Come on out and play. I would love to hear some other fly-ventures!

Fish "Fly" Friday

TGIF!

Today, I got to hang out with a dear, dear friend. We had a great time, but the time went by way too fast. Because, you see, it’s been awhile and we had (have) a lot of catching up to do.

We are both self-proclaimed crab leg connoisseurs’. But, unfortunately we didn’t know of a good place for crab legs. So, we decided to go to the Chancery. Okay, definitely a low second and not a Joe’s Crab Shack (we so need one here), but it was alright.

I arrived first and was seated in a small booth, in a corner, which gave me a view of the whole room. My friend arrived shortly thereafter.

I quickly realized that we were alone. Surprise!!! Now, being a fly you would think I wouldn’t have been surprised, but I really thought more flies frequented this place. Maybe it was just too early for the flies to take flight or maybe it’s because flies don’t care for fish fry’s (even though we Wisconsinites love to go to Fish Frys, especially during the Lenten season).

What was particularly interesting this evening were the individuals sitting at the table next to us. There was an elderly gentleman and I think, maybe his son? The “son” kept looking at our table. I don’t know if my friend could see him, because she was sitting parallel to him, but I could. Now what I wasn’t able to determine was why he was looking. Was it because we're two very attractive females (va va va voom) or was it because we're two attractive female flies?

Hmmmmmmm…

Wauwatosa Now news headlines read:
"Fantabulous Fly Flies at Friday Fish Fry"

Oh well, until my next fly-venture…bzzzzzzzzzzz!

It's my party and I'll be a fly if I want to...

I know, it's been awhile. It's not for a lack of material, it's just hard to keep up.

My oldest sister turned 60 last week. My mom had this brilliant idea to throw her a birthday party. So, the troops were formed and preparations began. I was in charge of securing music (among other things), so my younger brother, sister and I created playlists on our iPods. We did pretty good, I must say. We had everything...oldies, disco, R&B, jazz, latin and even polka. A plethora of music to dance to.

However, while at the party, I realized two things; one, these folks aren't spring chickens. I know my sister turned 60, but she is a "young" 60 year old. Unfortunately, that does not mean that the people invited to the party we're going to be the same...and they weren't. Some of them could barely walk, let alone, dance. However, a few did grace the dance floor (they even polka'd). So, the playlists weren't all a waste.

Now, my second realization, which is really quite funny, is that we were fly's at our own party. Who would have thunk it??? I mean really, isn't that sad? Outnumbered amongst the guest you invited. Pretty ironic, I must say. I guess we just bask in our fly-ness!

"Go fly, it's your birthday! Go fly, it's your birthday!"

The party was a hit! My sister had a blast in her own fly-a-verse!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RONNIE!
